Ever taken the plunge into icy cold waters without the assistance of a wetsuit? If so then you will know exactly why so many water sports fans rely on the clothing product to keep warm and to stay afloat. Whether it’s swimming in the sea on a family holiday or diving into a swimming pool on a particularly chilly day, there will have been plenty of times that we have immediately regretted plunging into the ice-cold liquid. But with a wetsuit, the clothing slows down the time taken for heat to escape from the body, and provides us with an extra bit of buoyancy, so all you need to worry about is finding those big waves.
What kind of sports are we talking about here? Wetsuits are used by all kinds of people that are heading out into the waves. For example it would seem unfathomable for a surfer to head out into the sea without the aid of a wetsuit; after all when they are not riding in the waves on top of a surf board they are swimming through the water or crashing through the surface if their balance isn’t good enough, so there are plenty of times a wetsuit comes in handy.
But then there are divers that will use them when they are submerging underwater and witnessing all that the sea has to offer. Then there is canoeist as well, and whilst it is their job to stay floating above the water it certainly helps to have a wetsuit on as it is likely that water will find a way of cooling you down eventually.
And wetsuits aren’t just restricted to these activities. You could also use wetsuits in swimming activities, kayaking and beyond.
